Sonography Services
Sonography, also known as ultrasound imaging, is a safe and non-invasive diagnostic test that uses sound waves to create images of organs, tissues and other structures inside the body. It does not use ionising radiation.
At Masters of Scopy, sonography is part of our Diagnostics & Wellness services, helping doctors evaluate symptoms, monitor certain conditions and guide further medical care when required.
Why Is Sonography Done?
Ultrasound can provide useful information about different organs and soft tissues. Your doctor may recommend a scan based on your symptoms, medical history or as part of a routine evaluation.
It may be used to assess:- Abdominal and pelvic organs
- Kidneys and urinary system
- Liver, gallbladder and related organs
- Thyroid and selected soft tissues
- Pregnancy and related gynaecological concerns when advised
How Is Sonography Performed?
During the scan, a handheld ultrasound probe is gently moved over the area being examined after applying a special gel to the skin. The probe sends sound waves into the body and creates images that can be viewed on a monitor.
Preparation depends on the type of ultrasound. You may be asked to fast or have a partially or completely full bladder for certain scans.

Preparation & Results

The ultrasound images are reviewed and a report is prepared. Your doctor can explain the findings and advise whether any further tests or treatment are needed.
